Marine Area 10 Coho Fishing Has Been Outstanding

The Coho fishing in Marine Area 10 (seattle/Bremerton has been nothing short of outstanding since the opener June 1st. Though the fish have not been trophy sized by any means, averaging in the 16 - 22 inch range. Though small they are outstanding table fare. At the present time they are foraging on krill, crab and shrimp spawn, making for some fantastic eating.

These coho can be found just about everywhere in Area 10, though the Jefferson Head, President Point and up to the Apple Tree Point line have been the most productive areas. The fishing has been so good that limits have been the rule for most everyone that has an idea of how to fish and limits are coming quickly at first light. Many boats limiting in less than an hour.

Here's Wendy with a fairly typical resident Coho caught right off of Shilshole.
